Adjective Constructions are twin-faced drawings extracted from a virtual playing field that creatively re-appropriates the act of drawing together remotely. We probe and intermix the virtually-understood and the close-at-hand to mine the active distance that has defined our decade-long collaboration across 2255 km. Each construction is instigated by a simultaneous pair of urban spaces in our respective cities. The site(s), physically inaccessible to one of us, are mediated by the local player though a curated set of photographs and a text. This mediation across distance liberally employs storytelling and the fictive in a manner that is neither necessarily honest, nor maliciously deceptive. Beginning as a two-faced virtual modelling space, the site fragments become a pretext for a dialectical performance of spatial re-appropriation via the architect’s tools inflected by distance. The twinned faces are the trace and witness to this process of re-imagining creative collaboration in a condition of remoteness.
